Was lucky enough to run in to all of my best friends from high school as we headed in to the fall. Hard for all of us to get together, as we are all in different parts of the country. But I am always grateful when we can. They are very special people.
Run The Jewels Chicago
Although I wasn’t too familiar with Run The Jewels, Tyler said he was rolling to all 4 shows at the Salt Shed in Chicago. Say no more. Sara and I took the train to Chicago to check out shows 3 and 4. Lets just say I became a fan. They are awesome. Nice time checking out the city and the architecture tour was so cool on the river!
MEET DIXON!!!!
We have been thinking about getting a puppy for the last handful of years. You’re never ready. But here we are. MEET DIXON! HE IS THE SWEETEST MINI DASCHUND!!!!
Traverse City
I have lived in Michigan for almost 30 years of my life and never been to Traverse City! We stopped in Grand Rapids for the Incubus show before heading up to spend the weekend with Terri & Bill! Boating in the bay, climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes and seeing a vision of my dream home on the water.
Summer 2023
We had a really nice summer spending time with family, riding our bikes, Friday pizza/salad night, movies with Adam and a Tiger’s game!
House Warming June 2023
Ralph & Briar flew all the way from California to come see our house/Detroit! It was a nice house warming get together. :)
Concerts
Saw a lot of great shows this summer. But also the worst show I’ve ever seen (Sisters of Mercy). The Cure in Chicago/Cleveland back to back were some really epic shows. They don’t fool around and play for over 2.5 hours. Seeing The Smile front row, center balcony in Cleveland. Open taping The National at the Fillmore and seeing The Pretenders in the smallest club known to man @ The Shelter.
Birthday
Enjoyed my birthday with going to Mercury Bar for the first time in years, seeing Future Islands at the Majestic and taking Sara to Movement Festival for the first time! I have been waiting 23 years to see Underworld live and they did not disappoint. We also went out to celebrate Sara’s graduation with a really amazing meal at Highlands!
Settling In - Chicago
Nice to have Sara in Michigan after doing the long distance for 3.5 months. Been hanging with family, trying new breweries, finding trails to bike/walk and check out old stomping grounds (Encore Records). We even went to Chicago to see Cursive and check out the sights, as it was Sara’s first time in the Windy City!
Shows
Something I’ve missed greatly. Seeing shows. Bruce, Depeche, HEALTH, M83, Cold, The Cure
Sara Moving Day!!!!
Last trip down to Charleston to pick up Sara! It was Cinco De Mayo so we celebrated the day before prior to our 17 hour trek up to Ann Arbor. What a great way to spend your first wedding anniversary! Ha! Big thanks to Adam to come over and help us unload the uHaul and everything else he did!
Sara Graduation!
Although I wasn’t able to attend I am so proud of my wife for graduating from her x-ray tech program with a 4.0. Changing careers mid-pandemic and taking accelerated math/science courses to meet some of the requirements her bachelors degree did not have. It took a lot of long days studying and hard work. I am so proud of her and she is going to do wonderful things!
Winter/Spring 2023
Went back to Charleston to celebrate our anniversary. First anesthesia conference in Dallas. The views of nightly facetimes. and back to Charleston to visit with Ross, B and Hudson.
Moving Day! Moving Day!
We found a nice little home in Ann Arbor and started getting it all ready prior to Sara joining after her program finished in May! Finally my dream of having a small music area came true. All the records, concert tapes and transfer media all in one corner. Sara even wanted the basement painted black! Just waiting for her to get here!
Miami
A nice trip to Miami for the weekend and Sara in Michigan for the first time. Even came to visit at work! :)
Finally Some Real Hockey!
Was excited we got to hit a lot of Wings games once back in Detroit!
Final Days in Charleston. On to Michigan.
Trident Anesthesia Group
Will certainly miss this great group of people. I was really lucky to find such a highly motivated group of people who I felt worked just as hard as I. In which, made me want to work and help the team out even more. I learned a great deal at TAG and was very grateful I had the opportunity to do cardiac anesthesia right out of school. It was such a rewarding experience. I will never forget the people or my time there.
New Year’s Day with Dixon/Ame + New York
No New Years Eve party for us. But a DAYTIME NEW YEARS DAY PARTY with Dixon and Ame for a 6+ hour set in Brooklyn where we met up with Martin!!! Great to see him after such a long time. Went to the Guggenheim, got massages and caught a Hurricanes game at Madison Square Garden. Even though they snapped their 15 game point streak, it was an amazing game/seats. Had a wonderful time with my wife :)
TAG Anesthesia Party / Christmas 2022
Trident Anesthesia Group party and got a group photo with hands down the best cardiac team anyone could work for. A weekend trip to Raleigh for a Hurricanes game with suite tickets! And a quiet Christmas with my love doing a pre-xmas workout, making cookies and watching movies.
Michigan Thanksgiving 2022
Mongo trips. Death from Above 1979 rescheduled shows from 2 million years ago. Nine Inch Nails last show in 2022 in Columbus with my brother and Zach. A Red Wings Game with the family. Introducing Sara to the Thanksgiving tradition of Bronner’s and Thankgiving dinner. Not to mention driving around Ann Arbor looking at potential neighborhoods we may call home very soon. :) It was a great holiday season with the family.
Sara’s Birthday - Asheville / Hilton Head/ Atlanta
Sara loves to head to the mountains for some nice hiking and then the ocean for a day near the beach for her birthday. It’s been a nice tradition for the last few years. To top it off, we met Terri and Bill in Atlanta for a Los Angeles Chargers game! :)
NIN Riot Fest / Wedding Sept. 2022
After Europe, I immediately hopped on a plane to Chicago to meet up with my brother and good friend Zach to see Nine Inch Nails at Riot Fest. The perfect setlist for my last NIN show of the tour. Somewhat Damaged, Wish, Heresy to open the set. Disgusting. Then went up to northern Georgia to see my best friend get married and we stayed in a nice little cabin. :) - We also survived our first (and last) hurricane off the Atlantic!
Europe September 2022
An amazing week with my wife in Northern Italy for the Italian Grand Prix, Ibiza for some proper electronic music at DC10 and sight-seeing/bike rides in Lisbon. She planned an epic trip.
August 2022
Rage Against the Machine in Raleigh with a dear friend. Realizing Buc-ee’s is a brand. Seeing friends get married. Asheville weekend trip and Beyond Van Gogh!
Keinemusik Miami July 2022
We caught our favorite DJ (Rampa!) in Miami over the 4th of July weekend at Space! Miami is one of our favorite places to visit. Good music, good coffee/donuts and great weather for being outside. :)
Nine Inch Nails - Philadelphia May 2022
Sara took me to Philly for my birthday to see Nine Inch Nails two nights at the Met! It was an amazing time to check out the city and take Sara to her first NIN show! She now understands why I see them so many times. Middle Child was an amazing breakfast spot. AND WE MET JB! #FULLSEND.
Desktop Pics - New York City 2022
Desktop Pics. You already know you gotta keep the desktop looking fresh with the rotation.
Honeymoon - New York City May 2022
Great time in our favorite city.
Our Wedding - May 2022
What a time. It’s been awhile since we have seen many of our close family/friends. We don’t take it for granted that pretty much EVERYONE came to celebrate the day. Some even coming for the week to check out the city. It was such a special time and went by so damn fast. Just a rare time to get everyone together and I am glad that this could be the excuse to get every one in the same room to celebrate. It’s been a long time with the pandemic to see so many people we care about.
NIN 2022 - aka B-Side Bachelor Party
3 NIN shows in 4 days. First shows since 2018 and since the pandemic. It was amazing to see my favorite band back on stage and taping the shows. We met up with a lot of great people and it was a blast.
