READ/WATCH: Depeche Mode Memento Mori Tour 2023

I had a great time touring the US (and Canada) for Depeche Mode’s first tour since 2018. Many wouldn’t know, but Depeche Mode has been my favorite band since day 1. Thanks to my dad who had Black Celebration, Music for the Masses and 101 jamming since I was born. I try to hit multiple shows each tour, just like I do for NIN.

I started filming shows again last year and gave it a go for this tour. Looking back, I had a blast recording all of these shows on the tour. Because who knows how long Depeche will be playing. The setlists, as a huge fan, have more to be desired. They have been the same setlists (minus new songs off the album they are supporting) for quite some time now. I’d love to see more stuff from earlier albums, or songs they haven’t played in years. Some of the highlights of the run of shows was San Antonio where I was able to record from a suite all to myself. Both Toronto shows were really great with excellent sound at Scotiabank. I always enjoy taking the train from Windsor to Toronto and it pops you right out by the arena. The October New York show was fantastic. I saw a lot of music that weekend with Circoloco Halloween happening at the same time and seeing my favorite DJ, Dixon. Plus going to the Depeche show with my Uncle. We have seen a lot of shows together since 2005. So very special. I was able to take the Detroit show in with my whole family, which was awesome to experience. I think the last show we all went to was Detroit in 2005. Then being able to see the first night in San Diego with my sister. Very cool to see Depeche at The Forum too. That was my first show there. I will say, by the end of the last show I was pretty done with seeing the same setlist every night. You can check out all of the shows below.
